Sandzén Gallery Calendar

The Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Closed on Mondays and the following during the year: New Year’s Day, July 4, Thanksgiving, and December 24-26.

Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.: Chamber Music – Solo Recital with Pianist Slawomir Dobrzanski of Manhattan. Attendance is free with donations accepted.

Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.: Documentary Screening of The Murals, a film by T.G. Jamroz of Chicago. The film is about Chapman, KS, native Henry Varnum Poor’s Chicago ceramic post office mural depicting Carl Sandburg and Louis Sullivan. Attendance is FREE. A presentation of “Arts on the Prairie” and supported by the Patterson Family Foundation and the Kansas Arts Commission, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts. Additional support is provided by the City of Lindsborg, the Lindsborg Arts Council, and the Sandzén Gallery.

Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.: Charles H. Sanderson Retrospective Talk by his daughter Charla. Coincides with a retrospective of Sanderson’s work at the Gallery. Attendance is FREE. A presentation of “Arts on the Prairie” and supported by the Patterson Family Foundation and the Kansas Arts Commission, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts. Additional support is provided by the City of Lindsborg, the Lindsborg Arts Council, and the Sandzén Gallery.

Sunday, October 19, 2024 – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Wit and Whittling in the Smoky Valley: a carving workshop with John Presley, Tanner Johnson, and Jennifer Ebling. Cost is $50 with all supplies provided. Sunday, November 3, from 2 to 4 p.m. Opening Reception for new exhibitions. featuring a collaborative show by Salinan Ruth Moritz and James Kinser of Chicago; prints by Nicholas Hill of Granville, OH; paintings by Richard Davies of Wichita; prints by Matt Regier of Matfield Green; and the annual Holiday Gift Show. Exhibition talks will begin at 2:30.

Sunday, November 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.: Cranes, Plains, and Watersheds: a talk by National Geographic photographer Michael Forsberg. Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.: Chamber Music Christmas Concert with Alyssa Morris and Friends from Manhattan, KS. Attendance is free with donations accepted.
